Future Goals

In developing my career, I will strive to find ways to integrate GIS technologies such as remote sensing methods into ecology and conservation, making it more accessible to decision makers, conervationists, and wildlife managers.  As a scientist I intend to keep broadening the applications of my research interests in landscape ecology and conservation by finding new, effective ways to understand the relationships between wildlife distributions and habitat.  Through international collaborations, I intend to use my research as a platform to introduce conservation applications of GIS and remote sensing technology to nations that harbor biodiversity hotspots, but lack the tools to make ecologically sound management decisions.  Our country has a blooming citizen science field that I hope to share with countries that contain unique and endangered ecosystems within their borders.
